Generic Name : Chloroxylenol

Why it is prescribed: It is a chlorinated antiseptic which is bactericidal against most gram positive bacteria but less active against gram negative.

When it is to be taken: Use as required.

How it should be taken: It comes in the form of 50ml, 100ml, 200ml, 500ml & 5 litre can. It also comes as 25g & 500g cream.

Special Instruction : Avoid use on brain meninges, middle ear & other sensitive tissues. Aqueous solution should be freshly prepared at recommended concentration and appropriate measures must be taken to prevent contamination.

Side Effects : Irritation of conjuctivae and other sensitive tissues.

Other Precautions : May be used in case of pregnancy, lactation and old age.

Storage Conditions : Store at room temperature.
